“Bill signing was spiteful in location, hypocritical in explanation”

The groups that have worked with the immigrants to create and support the IDs — FaithAction, the League of Women Voters, the Interactive Resource Center and Greensboro City Council members — vowed to keep fighting right beside them.

“While I’m saddened to be having this conversation, the people you see behind me and the people who represent the city of Greensboro stand here with a commitment that we may have never had as strongly as we have in this moment,” said Michelle Kennedy, executive director of the Interactive Resource Center. “To continue to fight for our community, to continue to drive programs that promote inclusivity for everyone in our community and access to services and benefits that everyone needs.” – News and Record
